New Yorkers

Normally I shy away from taking pictures of people other than family or friends with permission.  But here I was in midtown New York at rush hour, and people were by far the dominant and most interesting part of the landscape.  My little Panasonic Lumix ZS-7 looks like every other digital point-and-shoot but its remarkable telephoto powers let you shoot full-face portraits at long distance.  People’s faces are much more real and revealing when they are not aware of the lens.  It felt a bit sneaky to be doing this, but when I saw the results I forgave myself. I hope you will too.
